Write your own post

A post that is not about one listing — your own text and link, to your connected channels, now or at a time you pick, and on Threads into a room you name.

Not every post is about a listing. To write one yourself, open Account → Scheduled posts and choose New post.

The text is yours, exactly as you type it. Nothing is added to it and nothing is generated. A link inside the text stays a link; on Threads the first link also becomes the preview card under the post.

Pick the channels, then when. Tick any of your connected channels, then either publish now or tick Schedule for later and choose a time. A scheduled post waits in the same Scheduled posts list as a scheduled listing share, and you can cancel it there until it goes out.

Instagram is not offered here. It has no text-only posts, and a post you write has no image, so Instagram connections do not appear in this form.

The Threads room

Threads groups posts into rooms by topic. When a Threads channel is ticked, a Threads room field appears: type the room's name and the post is placed in it. Left empty, the post goes to your profile only, where it reaches the people who already follow you.

• Type the name exactly as it appears in Threads. There is no list to choose from — Threads does not publish one. An unfamiliar name does not fail; it starts a new room, which is usually not what you meant, so copy the name from the room itself.
• Up to 50 characters, with no full stops and no &. A leading # is removed for you.
• The same field is in the Share dialog, for a listing shared to Threads.

Length

A post that goes to Threads can be at most 500 characters, and the form counts as you type. Your own text is never shortened for you: if it is too long, the form refuses it and you decide what to cut.
