Getting started
What the platform does, and the three things to set up first.
Welcome. This guide covers the shortest path from a new account to a listing people can find. It is three steps, and each one has its own page below.
The one idea to hold on to
Everything you publish belongs to a workspace, not to you personally.
Your login is a person. A workspace is the thing that owns listings, holds a balance, gets paid, and appears on a public profile. They are deliberately separate, and it is why the first step is creating a workspace rather than filling in a profile:
- You can add colleagues to a workspace later without moving anything, and without sharing a password.
- You can own several — a personal one and a company one — each with its own listings, its own payments and its own currency.
- Leaving an organisation does not take its listings with you.
Almost everything that later looks confusing ("why can't I publish?", "why is the money not in my account?") comes from this one distinction, so it is worth the thirty seconds now.
The three steps
They are written assuming a brand new account. You do not need to read them in order if you already know what you are doing.
Each takes a couple of minutes. Nothing here charges anyone or sends anything — you are not live to buyers until the last step, and even then only for the listings you chose to publish.
