Choosing which arrangement to offer

Affiliation only, commission, or a fulfilment fee — who sells, who collects, and who ends up owing whom.

Every roster invitation carries an arrangement, and it decides who sells, who collects the buyer's money, and who owes whom afterwards. Nothing is preselected when you invite someone — pick the one that matches what you actually want from the relationship, not the first one on the list.

Affiliation only

The teacher joins your roster and nothing else changes. No commission, no fulfilment fee, nothing to settle between you, and no money passes through the platform in either direction.

This is the right choice when the relationship is informal, or when the money side is already handled entirely off-platform and you only need the roster to reflect who is affiliated with you.

Commission, settled by invoice

The teacher sells under their own name and collects the buyer's payment on their own payment setup, exactly as they would with no roster relationship at all. What changes is that each sale now also records a commission owed to the school, at the rate agreed when the invitation was accepted.

Nothing is deducted automatically — there is nothing to deduct, since the platform never held this money. The commission is simply a debt between the two of you, and the school bills the teacher for it directly: from the school's side of Roster & payouts, unbilled commission is shown as it accrues, and can be drawn into an invoice whenever the school chooses to.

Pick this when the teacher already has their own listings, their own students and their own payment setup, and the school's role is closer to a directory or a brand they sell under.

Fulfilment fee, settled by invoice

Here it runs the other way. The school sells and collects the buyer's payment itself. The teacher delivers the session — shows up and does the work — and is owed a fee for it, at the agreed rate, calculated on each sale they delivered.

The teacher raises the invoice this time, from their own side of Roster & payouts: delivered work not yet billed is listed there as it happens, and can be drawn into an invoice against the school whenever the teacher chooses to.

Pick this when the school is the one selling — its own listings, its own buyers — and the teacher's role is to deliver sessions the school has already taken payment for.

Whichever you pick

The rate agreed at invite time is what applies to every sale made or delivered under it. Changing a rate later never reaches a sale already made or work already delivered — it only takes effect going forward — so there is no need to worry about getting it perfectly right before you decide; worry about which direction the relationship should run, then move on to sending the invitation itself.
